Little preface to the theme toll roads in Europe.
That October 2014 me and my husband went to Karlsruhe by car. He went on his business, me on my business – tourism. We started our traveling from Kiev in Ukraine and spend 9 hours driving to Lviv city in western part of Ukraine. Pity it is that there is no highways in Ukraine.
Checked in a very cozy and not expensive (in comparison with European hotels) hotel “Status” nearby Lviv city in Malekhiv village.
And speaking about toll roads, this question became actual in Poland next day after we passed ukrainian-poland border check points. In all countries we entered this years and year before, there were toll roads: In Poland, in Czech Republic, Croatia, Slovakia, Austria, with the exception of Germany. And now I will tell you about the paying rules for the roas in these countries.

Tolls in Greece
Tolls in Greece are everywhere on the highways. There is no need to look for filling stations to buy vignettes. Driving from Thessaloniki to Athens we meet a lot of tolls. Driving along the highway every 20-30 kilometers you will stop to pay for a part of the road you covered. It is not a big price, because we met payments from 0,80 Euro to 4 Euro. In the result it was a big sum of money to pay for a road, so going from Bulgaria to Volos and further to Athens and backwards we paid for a highway up to 70 Euros in common. Our car travel experience says that it was the highest payment for tolls during one month in the foreign country.
